Via Padova is a block in the north-area of Milan. Immigration here is heavy, the street is a melting pot, is one of that places where you can’t (and you shouldn’t) feel totally safe walking alone at night. The ‘Street art’ exhibition, organized by Ilaria Borraccino, takes place here. It’s plainly outside: outside from the lights of the center, far away from the clean streets packed with art galleries, on a different planet from the fashion and the trends.
You enter a courtyard, enter the building and there you go down in the basement. It still smells of paint. And there, you can shut down your criticism and your badness because you feel that something cool is happening. There aren’t even sponsors on the flyer, artists sponsor themselves (that’s always bad, but I like the results anyway). A lot of new energy from these people, you surely know many of them.

There are no such words to describe the work of Suso (los reyes del mambo). Sometimes cool, sometimes crazy, most of the times incredible, like the piece above. Spain (and Madrid) gave birth to a number of styles, and it’s still full of people that pushes the limits forward.

Rieko, the curator of the [Bear In Mind](http://www.bearin-mind.org) exhibition, talks me about her idea: an exposition of toy-bears, customized by artists.
As customized bears bring in my mind other similar projects, she explains why she chose such an animal: the bear is not only a toy, it’s the _icon_ of a toy, virtually represents every toy and represents a dream, something we badly need in this time of sufference.
Hope I explained her idea correctly.

Appuntamento a Milano, dal 26 al 28 Maggio, presso lo STUDIO H2O, con Bear in Mind:
la prima mostra di orsi a colori. 50 orsi urbani in un habitat-installazione, non teneri orsetti di peluche,
né plantigradi imbalsamati. Insomma non è una cosa leziosa, né scientifica, né megasponsorizzata. È una cosa nuova da noi e si festeggia venerdì 26 dalle ore 19.30 fino a tardi, con un vero opening party.
